I’m Mary Whitehouse, I live in York and have always been ‘busy’, enjoying crafts, cooking, gardening, and walking on the beach…..

In October 2020 I become a student again, starting a Foundation Degree in Textiles Practice at Bradford School of Art. This course has encouraged me to be more reflective about art and my stitching.

In a previous life I was a physics teacher, and more recently worked in the Science Education Group at the University of York, and was Chair of the Association for Science Education (2018-19)

I have come to the end of the FDA at Bradford College and am about to embark on the course to top it up to a BA in Textiles Practice. Reflecting on what I have learned and can take forward I looked through all my sketchbooks from the last 4 years. He
